Merry Christmas!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! I thank God that we all remember the reason we celebrate.  I like to speak with my children about to true meaning of Christmas, but I also enjoy the practices of modern times.  So, YES we had a style for her school Christmas party.  I didnt have much time but we pulled off a really cute style that lasted through her party and even the airport after picking up her Uncle Bryon.  He is in the Navy in California and we were able to greet him as his flight landed.

I did a Cornrow that started mid left and braided it all the way across her head and down to a plait.  The braid stayed in for several day through several styles.  I parted the remaing hair into two ponytails.  I sectioned of two pieces of hair in each ponytail and the ribbon was the third strand.  I have used the ribbon strand with several styles and we love it!  I tied some festive green ribbone at the top of her ponytails.  As I said, this style was very cute, quick, easy, and lasted a long time!

This is how KyKy wore her hair for Christmas!!  We banded of the front into seven sections and then seperated them to make slider/zig zag braids.  We then connected the slider/zig zag braids into a ponytail in the back of KyKy's hair.  It is a half ponytail as we have some of her hair hanging lose.  The only products used in KyKy's hair for this style was our water-conditioned mix.  This photo was taken in the evening, so the style had help up pretty well!

The photo below is how we combined the sections to make the slider braid!  She loved it and so did our friends and family!  Very fast and easy style!

Thank you for viewing and BE BLESSED!  Tons more bows to follow this post soon.  Santa brought me some bow making material and tools so Ive been BUSY!!!!

Bow-Nation!!!!

LOVIN MY BOW TIME

I have been greatly enjoying my bow making time!!  Once I get KyKy and my baby boy's in bed, it becomes my BOW TIME.  My kitchen has become BOW-Nation.  My ribbons, clips, hot glue gun, scissors, needle, and threads have taken over my kitchen table.  And I am loving every minute of it.  Bow making has kinda turned in to my down time and my ME time (even tho Im not doing something for 'me' lol).

I am gradually learning new styles but this is a technique I refer back to often.  Very easy and the bows come out very pretty.  I love the opportunity to play with color.

With the bow below, I played with several different things.  I did the typical bow, then added a few Korker bows, and added a flower to the center of the bow.  I was really pleased with this bow.  It started out as an experiment and really took off and turned into something that I think is very pretty.

The Butterfly Bow was my biggest challenge thus far in bow making.  I just couldnt get my hands and fingers to cooperate.  It took several attempts and several 'how-to' videos before I was honestly pleased.  Pictured below is my first successful attempt.  KyKy was blown away and couldnt wait to wear the Butterfly Bow! Check out the placement of the stones!  ;-))

KORKER BOWS!!  Love these!!   Wasnt too sure about these when I originally decided to take a stab at bow making.  My sister in law asked about some for her daughter and I decided to give it a go.  In actuality, they were the easiest bows, by far, and I really enjoy making them.  I bought more dowels so I could make more than a few at a time.  SO EASY and SO PRETTY.  KyKy was blown away at the Korker bows.  She felt really girly because of the bounce!

The Christmas Tree clip was a fun project.  I have decided to make these for all of the little girls in our families.  So easy and so pretty.  KyKy wore this one on several different days already.  Such a nice touch and a dose of Christmas spirit!!!

As you can see I am picking up really well on the whole bow making thang!  LOL  As I said, it is a great down time activity for me.  Right before bed, I get to sit and relax and let my creativity juices flow!

Please leave a comment or suggestions for me to try next!! Thank you for reading and be sure to THANK GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS!!

Going to take a stab at making bows.  Purely for KyKy and our friends and family.  I dont think I could ever get to the point of selling them, but I am enjoying watching TONS of videos to learn how to make them!

Im excited to see how much I improve!  So, here is my very first bow I created.  Let me know what you think and keep watchimg for my growth!!
